■ Why Choose Us

Why choose us: every piece, rebuilt by hand

At Master’s Touch Upholstery, every piece we reupholster is stripped back to the frame, reinforced by hand, re-sprung, refilled with premium high-density foam, and re-covered in designer-grade fabric or leather, rebuilt to be lived on for another generation. As a family-owned furniture reupholstery and restoration workshop in Santa Rosa, we’ve spent decades reviving sofas, sectionals, armchairs, dining chairs, ottomans, headboards, and treasured heirlooms for homeowners, interior designers, and businesses throughout Sonoma County and the greater North Bay.

■ Frequently Asked

Upholstery questions, answered

How do I get a quote for reupholstery?

The easiest way to start is to send us a few photos of your piece along with a short description of what you’d like done. We’ll reply within one business day with a no-obligation estimate. You can also reach us at (707) 578-9495 or mtu468@gmail.com.

Should I reupholster my furniture or replace it?

If a piece has a solid frame, comfortable proportions, sentimental value, or a design you can’t easily replace, reupholstery is usually worth it. You keep the furniture you love, rebuilt to look and feel new. Send us a photo and we’ll give you an honest recommendation.

How much does it cost to reupholster a sofa or chair?

Every project is different. Cost depends on the size and construction of the piece, the work involved (foam, springs, or frame repair), and the fabric you choose. Send photos and we’ll prepare a detailed, no-obligation estimate before any work begins.

Do you reupholster antiques and heirloom furniture?

Yes. We regularly restore antiques, family heirlooms, and older well-built furniture, preserving the character of the piece while renewing the upholstered components.

What upholstery fabrics can I choose from?

Master’s Touch Upholstery carries a broad selection of designer upholstery fabrics, including lines from Kravet, Pindler, Fabricut, Schumacher, and Sunbrella, in a wide range of colors, textures, patterns, and performance options. We’ll help you choose a fabric suited to how the piece will be used.

What areas do you serve?

Master’s Touch Upholstery is based in Santa Rosa and serves homeowners, designers, and businesses throughout Sonoma County and the greater North Bay, including Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Windsor, Sebastopol, and Healdsburg.

Do you offer commercial upholstery?

Yes. We reupholster restaurant booths, banquettes, office and lobby seating, and other commercial furnishings in contract-grade fabrics built for heavy, everyday use.

Do you do automotive or car upholstery?

No. We don’t take automotive upholstery of any kind. Vehicle work brings grease, oil, and road dirt into a workshop that handles fine fabrics and customers’ own furniture, and keeping the two apart needs a separate facility we don’t have. We’re asked this often, so it’s worth saying plainly before you call.

Do you sell fabric, or do I have to find it myself?

Yes, we sell fabric. Our Santa Rosa showroom carries sample books from the major upholstery mills, and we hold trade accounts with the fabric houses, so we can order a sample of almost anything we don’t stock and have it sent to you. Most customers choose their fabric with us as part of the job.

Can I supply my own fabric?

Yes, though it changes the price. Selling fabric is part of how the workshop stays open, so bringing your own material costs more in labor than buying the fabric through us, and we’d usually rather quote you the second way. Ask when you request your estimate and we’ll set out both. We can order a sample before you commit, so you’re not choosing blind.

Can you replace just the foam without reupholstering?

Yes. Replacing worn foam is often the cheapest way to make a piece comfortable again, and it doesn’t need new fabric. We use high-resilient foam from a specialist supplier rather than the low-grade foam fitted to most new furniture, so the cushions hold their shape for years rather than months. Many customers re-cushion first and reupholster later.
